Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Tuesday, December 1, addressed the gathering at an event organized on behalf of the Indian Merchant Chamber (IMC) of Commerce, and state that fabric of Maharashtra is a magnetic, and businesses are attracted towards mutual development in the state. Investors and businesses will not leave the state, but others from different parts of India would come to Maharashtra in the near future. 

As per reports, this was an important statement targeted towards the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath who is expected to meet the entrepreneurs in Mumbai during his visit.

Sharing more at this occasion, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that it was a matter of great pleasure that the Indian Merchant Chamber of Commerce is taking the initiative for Magnetic Maharashtra. The word magnetic has great power. The government is not afraid of competition and are not jealous of one's if they wish to compete. However, The state of Maharashtra has history and has been developed with its own rules. Nobody from other states can enter this land and take anything away. 

Adding more, he complimented the IMC and its achievement stating that the state has seen new investments in recent times, and the IMC in Maharashtra has witnessed this change for the last 113 years, which is what makes them the 'brand ambassador' of Maharashtra. He offered the support to solve problems by finding solutions if the IMC faces a challenge, and stated that the government's help will encourage foreign investment in Maharashtra, and IMC will be able to proudly share the success stories of the state.

CM emphasised that the coronavirus crisis is not over yet and despite the pandemic, the department is looking for ways to move forward. He sought support from the IMC and state that with the same goal and combined work, the state will be able to progress further. COVID has affected businesses across India, and it is necessary for us to look at a positive way forward with confidence. New initiatives like the Ease of Doing Business is being implemented by the government, and the concerned department is also welcome to receive more suggestions from the industry leaders.

The state government recently organised two phases of Magnetic Maharashtra initiatives, whereby MoUs worth over INR 60,000 crore were signed. Addressing the gathering, the CM, during the event held a few months back stated that care is being taken to start the projects and that the government would work towards achieving the target of INR 1 lakh crore worth investments, making Maharashtra's 60 years of statehood.
