On Thursday, November 24, in a cabinet meeting held, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is still recovering from his surgery, attended the meeting virtually from the hospital.
In the beginning, Deputy CM wished Thackeray a speedy recovery on behalf of all cabinet colleagues.
Following which, the meeting began where they discussed issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. While Transport Minister Anil Parab told the cabinet about the steps taken by the Maharashtra government regarding the MSTRC strike.
Judging by the reemergence of positive cases in Europe, the Hon'ble CM advised continued vigilance and ensuring the observance of COVID appropriate behaviour.

Earlier, it was reported that the state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was likely to chair the cabinet meeting.
They further decided to hold its winter session of the state legislature in Mumbai, which will begin on December 22.
State education minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted that after discussing with the CM in the cabinet meeting, they have decided to reopen schools for grades 1-4 in rural Maharashtra and grades 1-7 in urban Maharashtra from Wednesday, December 1.
After discussing with the Chief Minister, the cabinet and paediatric task force, the state cabinet has decided to re-open schools from Std 1st to 4th in rural areas and Std 1st to 7th in urban areas from the 1st of December. We are committed to safe resumption of schools.

Meanwhile, an official from Thackeray's office said that the CM is likely to stay hospitalized for a few more days. The official further said that even after his discharge, Thackeray would resume work from the office after recovering fully.
For those unversed, Maharashtra CM was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, on November 10, for treatment of a cervical problem.
