Ram Mandir Row: Mumbai Dabbawalas to travel Ayodhya in support of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray

Along with Mumbai Dabbawalas, several supporters from Hindutva outfits and Varkari community will also join Shiv Sena in their visit to Ayodhya

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray declared that he will visit Ayodhya “bearing the saffron flag”. Thackeray’s visit will be a part of Shiv Sena’s political campaign and they will be supported by Mumbai’s Dabbawalas. 

Mumbai Dabbawala Association spokesperson Subhash Talekar informed that Dabbawalas from Mumbai will visit Ayodhya along with the Shiv Sena chief to show their support for the cause. Dabbawalas will leave for Ayodhya in special trains. 

Along with the Dabbawalas, supporters from Varkari community, Hindutva organisations will also leave for Ayodhya in support of Shiv Sena’s political campaign. The Dabbawalas will visit Ayodhya under the leadership of their spokesperson. However, there will be no impact on the services of Dabbawalas in Mumbai.

Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut appealed to all the Hindutva organisations and Congress to participate in the “movement” regarding the Ram Mandir issue. Talekar informed that Shiv Sena has always stood for the demands of the Dabbawalas. “We have decided to firmly stand behind Uddhav Thackeray,” said Talekar.
