“Why is there so much silence?” Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the delay in probing the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Sawant wondered if the Modi government has told the CBI to keep the matter unresolved until the Bihar assembly elections which are scheduled to end on November 10.

“It has been a month since the AIIMS medical board submitted its report to the CBI. However, there has been no action taken by the CBI. They have not even issued a statement. Why is there so much silence?” Sawant asked.

Last month, the AIIMS medical board ruled out the murder angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death and claimed that it was death by suicide and a case of hanging. Slamming the CBI for its delay and its silence, Sawant asked if CBI was following the Code of Conduct of Bihar polls.

The Congress leader further said that “some people” questioned Mumbai Police’s investigation into the demise of SSR but even the CBI hasn’t been able to reach any conclusion.

“The autopsy report of the Cooper Hospital was questioned. However, the AIIMS panel confirmed the findings of the autopsy report carried out by the Cooper Hospital. The AIIMS medical board in their report said that SSR committed suicide.” Sawant said.

The death of Sushant Singh Rajput sparked a huge political controversy in Maharashtra after the opposition questioned the role of Mumbai Police in its investigation. The SSR death case also triggered a probe into the alleged Bollywood-drugs nexus.
