Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut had made a serious allegation. Describing his life as a threat, Sanjay Raut had said that his life is in danger from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and MP Shrikant Shinde. Sanjay Raut said this while writing a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Sanjay Raut's allegations are a sign of further widening of the rift in the Shinde-Thackeray faction. Meanwhile, Raut's security has been increased after this allegation.

This is what Sanjay Raut wrote in his letter
“There has been an increase in threats and attacks on people's representatives in Maharashtra since the past few days. This is not a tradition of Maharashtra. After the transfer of power in Maharashtra, all my security arrangements were removed. I have no complaints about that. Such political decisions are made. Safety of MPs is a matter of government and you as Home Minister (Devendra Fadnavis) are competent to do so, yet I would like to bring to your notice one serious matter. I have received information that MP Shrikant Shinde gave supari to Raja Thakur, a notorious gangster from Thane, and his gang have been tipped to attack me. Looking at the current situation in Maharashtra, this issue needs to be brought to our attention”.
