Maharashtra government stays infrastructure projects with no work orders issued

Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra on Thursday has stayed projects under the Urban Development department. 

The funds for projects which have been stalled were distributed to local bodies for the year 2019-2020 but the work orders were not issued for the same. 

In a government order, the municipal council administration directorate along with district collectors and municipal corporations have been directed to stay projects for which the work order has been issued yet.

The government also sought information on a list of projects for which the work order has been issued. The government has asked the concerned officials to send the list by Friday evening. 

If in case, the projects whose work orders have been issued are not listed, disciplinary actions will be taken against the concerned officials.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray swore-in as Chief Minister of Maharashtra on November 28 and became the first ‘Thackeray’ to hold the post.

After taking the oath, CM Uddhav Thackeray is continuously taking decisions on infrastructure projects including putting a stay on the metro crashed work in Aarey. On the other hand, CM Thackeray also decided to review the bullet train project.
