Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena leader Abdul Sattar were tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday. Sattar becomes the fifth cabinet minister in the Uddhav Thackeray government to contract COVID-19 among other leaders in the state.

Sattar, who is the Minister of State (MoS) for Rural Development, Revenue, Port Land Development and Special Assistance, took to Facebook to inform that he has been tested COVID-19 positive. He informed that he has self-quarantined himself at his residence in Mumbai.

Sattar represents the Sillod assembly constituency from Aurangabad as Shiv Sena MLA and had joined the party after resigning from Congress in 2014. In a Facebook post, the Shiv Sena MLA appealed those who were in close contact with him to get themselves tested for the coronavirus.

I have received treatment at Lilavati Hospital and I have home-quarantined myself in Mumbai. Those who came in close contact with me are requested to get themselves tested and stay at home,” Sattar said. He is receiving treatment under the observation of renowned Dr Jalil Parkar.
