According to the latest reports, on Tuesday, May 3, a case was registered in Aurangabad against MNS Chief Raj Thackeray as well as the organisers of the public rally wherein Thackeray delivered a speech on May 1.

Based on accounts, the police registered the case after viewing the videos of his rally. At the same time, the Maharashtra Home Department reportedly received intelligence that individuals from other states could come to Maharashtra to hamper the law and order condition.

The case has been registered because they allegedly violated the terms and conditions imposed by the police while granting permission for the rally.

The police have been quoted in accounts claiming that Thackeray made provocative statements in the rally and attempted to instigate his workers.

Moreover, many MNS workers have also been given notices.  It has been reported that the speech had an “intent to cause riots”.

Commenting on the case registered against the MNS Chief, Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut remarked that such cases were filed throughout India. Therefore, if somebody gives a provoking speech or writes something like that, actions are taken against it, thus what is the big deal about it, Raut questioned.

In other developments, in a meeting conducted between state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and home minister Dilip Walse Patil, the CM was reportedly briefed about the law and order situation in the state.

Herein, the CM ordered that the police must undertake all the measures to maintain law and order whilst not waiting for anyone's order. In addition to this, the Maharashtra DGP and Thackeray had a telephonic conversation wherein the law and order situation was discussed.

Earlier on Tuesday, Maharashtra DGP Rajnish Seth conducted a press conference wherein he remarked that the Maharashtra police can handle any sort of law and order situation.
