NCP MP Fauzia Khan tests COVID-19 positive

The district administration of Parbhani has sealed the area where Khan resides and has asked those who came in close contact with her to get themselves tested for the coronavirus.

After Maharashtra Minister Abdul Sattar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Fauzia Khan has tested positive for the coronavirus. Khan, the Rajya Sabha member, took the antigen or antibody test for COVID-19 and was detected positive in Parbhani. 

According to media reports, the district administration of Parbhani has sealed the area where Khan resides and has asked those who came in close contact with her to get themselves tested for the coronavirus. Khan is the NCP National Women's President and a former minister of Maharashtra.

Recently, Shiv Sena leader Abdul Sattar also tested positive for the coronavirus and has self quarantined himself at his Mumbai residence. Sattar, who represents the Sillod assembly constituency from Aurangabad, took to Facebook to inform that he has been tested COVID-19 positive. He appealed those who were in close contact with him to get themselves tested for the coronavirus.

On Monday, Maharashtra Minister Aslam Shaikh also tested positive for the coronavirus. Till now, five cabinet ministers in the Uddhav Thackeray government have been tested COVID-19 positive. 

Earlier, three cabinet ministers - Jitendra Awhad, Ashok Chavan and Dhananjay Munde - in the Uddhav Thackeray government were tested positive for the coronavirus. However, they have all recovered and have taken charge of their ministerial work. 

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Nayan Kadam and Jagdish Ojha, BJP corporator from Dahisar, tested COVID-19 positive. They all have self-isolated themselves.
